5. Email Communications

We use transactional email for account verification, password reset, account notifications, access notifications, and other important service messages. You do not need to accept marketing email to use LingoLink.

6. Learning Progress

When you're signed in, your learning progress is associated with your account and can persist across sessions and devices. Some limited progress may also be stored locally in your browser, for example before you sign in.

7. Cookies and Sessions

LingoLink uses cookies and similar browser storage that are necessary for authentication, sessions, security, your preferences, and core site functionality.

Website analytics

The LingoLink website uses Google Analytics 4 only with your consent. It collects pages viewed, interactions with the site, device and browser type, approximate location derived from your IP address, and the referring website (referrer). We use this information to understand how people use LingoLink and improve the site. Google acts as a processor for this analytics information. We do not use Google Analytics for advertising or cross-site tracking.

We also measure basic usage of LingoLink on our own servers, such as which lesson steps are started and completed and which campaign link brought you to the site, so we can see where learners get stuck. Before you choose in the banner, this happens without storing anything on your device and is not linked to your identity. If you accept analytics, a random identifier is kept in your browser so that your visits can be connected. If you decline, we keep only these anonymous, per-visit measurements.

You can accept or decline analytics in the banner. We remember your choice in your browser for 12 months. To change your choice or withdraw consent at any time, open Cookie settings in the footer and select Decline. You can also use Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

The LingoLink iOS and Android apps do not use Google Analytics. Practice recordings you make in the apps stay on your device and are not uploaded.

8. Data Sharing

LingoLink does not sell personal information.

We share information with service providers only as necessary to operate LingoLink, including for hosting, authentication and database services, payment processing, transactional email delivery, and security or technical operations.

9. Retention and Account Deletion

We keep your account and progress while your account is active. You can export a copy of your data and permanently delete your account at any time from your Profile settings, or by contacting support@lingolink.net. Some records may be retained where reasonably necessary for legal obligations, payment and accounting records, fraud prevention, security, or dispute resolution.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

11. Children's Privacy

LingoLink is intended for users age 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 may have submitted personal information to us, please contact support@lingolink.net.
